- The gear we have at our disposal is limited to sm57/58, MXL990/91 small/large condensers, the cheapo ART preamps, and free VST plugins. As you can see, we have the budget gear under control, or I would like to think. I'd like help with the recording techniques and mixing/processing advice.
Shoegaze Vst Plugins
I don't gig anymore, and most of my playing is done in front of my PC or somewhere I can take my laptop, so as various bits of hardware crap out, I'm trying to replace them with plugins.
I'm a fair way along, I've got the latency down to a manageable level, and discovering Ohmicide finally cured my distortion/fuzzbox addiction, but I'm stumbling when it comes to reverb, specifically replacing my much-abused midiverb II and its reverse reverb.
I know GuitarRig has a reasonably good reverse reverb, but GR is such a pig when it comes to resources that I'd like to find something more focused and lean if I can.
So, two questions I guess:
1) Can anyone recommend a good reverse reverb VST for PC?
2) Anyone has any other suggestions for VST's that reward the tinkerer. Ohmicide was a revelation in this regard, so adaptable, so if there are others out there I'd be keen to hear about them.
